Farangipet, Mangaluru: The Corpus Christi Sunday was celebrated with great devotion and pomp by the Friars and the faithful at Monte Mariano Church, Farangipet, Mangaluru, D.K. today, the 28th September 2025. 

The Holy Eucharist was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Denis Gabriel Veigas O.F.M. Cap, the Guardian of the Capuchin Friary, popularly known as the Covent, and a homily preached by Rev. Fr. Henry D’Souza O.F.M. Cap., the Novice Master. The Most Holy Blessed Sacrament was taken on a decorated chariot, Adyar, led by the Brass Band of Fajir, along with another chariot with choir and music. Rev. Fr. Melroy D’Silva O.F.M. Cap., after accompanying the Blessed Sacrament during the procession that covered the market road of Farangipet, and then the Bangalore-Mangalore National Highway, and on re-entry into the Church, conducted praise and worship service before giving the Solemn Benediction. 

There were rains pouring cats and dogs due to the cyclonic depression even as the Holy Mass began at 8.00 a.m. Due to the intense prayer intercession by the faithful,right at the moment the procession was to commence the rain left to Spain.  With this Eucharistic procession the doors are open for the forthcoming annual feast of St. Francis of Assisi on the 4th for the priests and religious, and the public feast of Monte Mary Coventu Devaru Church on the 5th October 2025.
