Mangalore, May 23: Another shameful incident has taken place in Mangalore at Maryhill Mangalore on 22 May 2021. A dog was seen being tied to a bike and dragged.
The owner of the bike has been recognized as Erayya Hiremath. The reason behind this cruel act was the owner dog had bit his slippers, so he stole the dog and tied it to his bike and had dragged him over 2km. Later he left the dog in the middle of the road to bleed.
The blood stains have been found all over the road. The dog has not been traced yet, the volunteers of ACT are on the trail.
Erayya has been arrested by Kavoor police Deputy Commissioner of Police Hariram Shankar IPS and Inspector Raghav Padil. He has been charged with Prevention of Cruelty against animals Act (PCA) and Epidemic Diseases Act of 1897 for wandering around during the lockdown.
Erayya was the migrant worker from Gulbarga who was working as a gardener at doctors house at Konchadi, Mangalore
