Manipal:  MIC first year students conducted a week long online campaign called SABKA CHAWAL against food wastage. It culminated into a program organized at MIC auditorium.

The chief guest for the program was Derrick Ian Joshua, assistant director, Environment Sustainability, MAHE. The Chief Guest, Derrick Ian Joshua told the students how efficiently the water and waste management systems in the MAHE campus work making it a green campus and earning it several awards for the same. He further elaborated on the causes, effects and means to reduce food wastage on campus and commended the efforts of the students of MIC.

The director of MIC, Dr. Padma Rani addressed the gathering and educated them on the importance of reducing food wastage.

Mridula Kumar,a student of MIC gave the welcome address. Keyuri Desai, also a student of MIC and a core member of the Sabka chawal campaign elaborated on the campaign and its course and success. Tejas Srinivasan gave the vote of thanks. The students also screened a short documentary made by them for the campaign.
