Mangalore: Deepavali” the festival of lights was celebrated by Kamadhenu and Kalpavraksha SHG Federations under the aegis of Canara Organization for Development and Peace.
Shanthi DSouza, President of Anugraha SHG welcomed the gathering. The programme began with a prayer song.
Rev. Fr Oswald Monteiro, Director of CODP, in his message said, “we should spread religious brotherhood, peace and harmony among one another and in the whole society, so that we can become light in our society”.
Chief guest of the programme Maruthi, Police Sub Inspector of Kadri Police station, addressed the gathering and explained about the present laws and protection provided by the police to women and children.
Arun D Souza of Digital Service Centre, Kalpane gave awareness on various government schemes and online services, available at his cyber office at Kalpane-Kulshekar.
