Puttur: Students of St Philomena College (Autonomous), Puttur, have added another feather to the cap of the institution by clinching honours at the University-level Postgraduate Kannada Debate Competition organized by Mangalore University.
The competition, held on September 30, 2025, was conducted under the auspices of the Karnataka State Co-operative Federation Ltd., Bengaluru. Participants deliberated on the thought-provoking topic, “Comprehensive cooperative development is possible only when priority is given to research, innovation, and the use of information technology. “Showcasing eloquence and analytical ability, Shreeraksha K, I M.Sc. Mathematics, secured the First Prize along with a cash award.
Shreedevi N, also from I M.Sc. Mathematics, clinched the Second Prize, receiving a cash award as well. Their outstanding achievement drew praise from Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, Principal of St Philomena College (Autonomous), who lauded the students’ dedication and intellect. Prof. Ganesh Bhat K, Coordinator of the PG Department of Mathematics, along with other faculty members, congratulated the winners for their commendable performance.
