Mangalore: Milagres College, Mangaluru is proud of having another feather on her cap indeed a new milestone with the establishment of National Cadet Corps unit after a long wait. The fruitfullabour of ten years is complete. The NCC army wing SD/SW, inauguration and pledge Ceremony was held on February 17, 2022.
Col Nitin Bhide, Commanding Officer, 18 Kar Bn NCC, was the chief guest of the program. He administered the oath to the cadets and in his message, he briefed that the cadets should possess aspects like personality development, leadership, comrade and perfection. He also said to the cadets that they should expose their talents in all the positive activities to be held in the nation.
Rev Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, Correspondent of Milagres Educational Institutions presided over the program. In his message, he mentioned two important aspects of being NCC Cadets is that they are cadets for themselves and others. The cadets should build the character, discipline, secularism, adventure, selfless service and unity in the college and towards nation.
Alwyn Rosario, member of Governing Council, Bernard Dsouza, Vice-president, Milagres church PPP, Gelard Pinto, member of Governing Council, Maxim Monteiro, well-wisher of NCC, Denzil Edrod Pinto, NCC CT were the other dignitaries of the program.
Rev. Fr Michael L Santhumayor, Principal, welcomed the gathering. Tressy Pinto, Asst NCC CT, Proposed Vote of Thanks. Joston Dsouza, the student compared the program. The program concluded with national anthem. Total of 17 newly selected cadets and 180 other students were present.
