Madikeri: Sixteen Year old U.S. Meena, the deasesed was muderd by her fiancee on May 10. Brutal murder took place in Madikeri, Meena was enagaged to the accused Prakash(32).
As the girl was minor, official of Social Welfare Department got the infromation and visited Meena's house, counseld them about the laws of Child Marriage and wait until Meena turns 18. It was agreed by parents.
Engraded by this Prakash arrived Meena's house and assulted her parents. Then he dragged Meena and chopped off her head and took it along with him.
At present, the accused Prakash, who was hiding in a village of Somwarpet taluk, has been arrested by the police. Madikeri Superintendent of Police K. Ramarajan informed that the accused has been interrogated.
The deasesed Meena was student of Government High School Surlabbi. She had secured 314 marks in the SSLC examination in the results which was announced on May 9.
