Mangaluru: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Mangaluru City Crime Branch (CCB) successfully seized 123 kilograms of ganja and impounded vehicles used for transportation, along with five mobile phones. The operation also led to the arrest of three individuals who were allegedly transporting the ganja from Andhra Pradesh.
Acting on a tip-off, the police intercepted two vehicles at Mathadakere, Kantavara Cross, Beluvai village in Moodbidri taluk, and seized the contraband that was being transported illegally.
The arrested individuals — Masood M.K. (45), Mohammed Ashiq (24), and Subair (30) — are all residents of Kerala.
The estimated total value of the seized items is ₹46,20,000. A case has been registered at the Moodbidri Police Station.
The Mangaluru City Police continue their relentless efforts to crack down on illegal drug networks. Officers and staff of the CCB unit played a key role in the success of this major operation.
