Mangalore:- Catechism Day was celebrated on 11 April 2021 at St.Lawrence Church Bondel, Father Muller Hospital , Thumbay Director Rev. Fr Silvester Vincent Lobo was the main celebrant, Asst. Parish priest Rev Fr Rupesh Tauro was the concelebrant.
During the Mass, thanksgiving prayers offered to the Divine Mercy for bestowing the Blessing throughout the year. The Liturgy was led by the children and all took active participation in the Eucharistic banquet. After the Eucharist a small programme was organised in the church Pendol.
Guest Fr Silvester Vincent Lobo in his speech said that "Reading Bible one verse a day is a good thing, Meditating on God's Word will give you a greater understanding of what God wants from and for you, thereby providing you with guidance." Rev Fr Andrew Leo D'Souza in his speech thanked all the catechism teachers for their selfless service to children of the parish. He was grateful to Rev Fr Clifford Pinto, Catechism Director & the Principal of St Lawrence Eng. Medium School and Coordinator Santhosh Misquith for their dedicated work towards catechism in the parish.
The dais was honored by the presence of all the dignitaries, Rev. Fr. Andrew Leo D'Souza , Parish Priest, Rev. Silvester Vincent Lobo, the chief guest, Rev. Fr Rupesh Tauro Asst Parish Priest , Catechism Coordinator- Santhosh Misquith, Reginald D'Souza -Vice President , Steevan Noronha , Secretory, Parish Council were on the dais.
Teachers were honoured for their service given throughout the year. Children were given prizes for regular attendance and securing first, second and third prizes in the catechism exam and for keeping the record book. Catechism Coordinator- Santhosh Misquith proposed the vote of thanks. Meena Barboza Welcomed the Guest's and Lavina Menezes was the master of the ceremony.
