Apocalypse 3:1-6, 14-22 / Luke 19:1-10

Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.” (Rev 3:15-20)

Reflection

Let the words of Jesus addressed to the Church at Laodicea in the first reading be strongly reflected by all of us:
“I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of my mouth.

In the gospel, Zacchaeus heard Jesus loud and clear: Zacchaeus, come down. Hurry, because I must stay at your house today.

Let, us, learn the art of listening from the Little Man and make significant changes in our life, in order to experience the magnanimous wonders and graces from our Big God!

Questions to ponder

Am I ready to encounter, to listen and to be found by Him?

Am I, like Zacchaeus, seeking refuge in the leaves of trees like money, pleasure, evil habits and yet have a desire to see the Lord?

Am I, like Zacchaeus, joyful to hear God’s words addressed to me, & also ready to make changes for a better spiritual life?

Resolve

Let us wake up, let us listen, and let us hurry to do what the Lord Jesus is prompting us to do.

Let us pray for ears to hear and to listen, especially when Jesus says it loud and clear.

Today's Saint and Quote

St. Elizabeth of Hungary, Religious (Memorial)During her short life, she died at the age of 24, Elizabeth managed to achieve great things and to leave a legacy worthy of a saint. Being of noble parentage, she was married into royalty, but lived a simple and austere life, caring for the poor and the sick, following the ideal of Francis of Assisi who was living at the time. When her husband died, she dedicated herself totally to works of charity. She died in the year 1231.

Everything I own really belongs to the poor.
