Discipline is important in our everyday life. It is utterly important to maintain discipline as it greatly defines the person that one is.
Discipline means learning to obey necessary rules of conduct. The very essence of discipline is obedience- obedience to rules; and pupil or follower is derived from “discipline”, a learner, or follower of a teacher.
We may discuss the question from two points of view: the discipline or training of an individual, and the discipline, or order maintained in a society or body of individuals.
The word “Discipline” comes from the word “Disciple” meaning a learner. Discipline means tearing to obey certain rules. Without it, there will be complete chaos and disorder everywhere in our society.
The training of a child is a good example of discipline in the first sense. To be of any use in human society, a child has to be trained by its parents and teachers from its earliest years.
Discipline helps in time management. When one is disciplined, they are better able to manage their time at school, work and at home.
Discipline also helps to build respect. One is able to have more respect for those around them and others are able to respect them as well.
With discipline, one is able to meet their goals. They will be able to work harder to see that their plans are able to succeed.
Discipline helps one to achieve better grades in school. One is able to concentrate more in their studies and not in other things.
Helps one to avoid trouble. When one is disciplined, they are able to abide by set rules thus avoiding trouble.
Discipline is a virtue that every person should have. There are many benefits associated with discipline. One is able to live a better life when they are disciplined.
Discipline means training of the mind and character. It is obedience to rules and an orderly behaviour. It also refers to the practices involved in to regulate the human behaviour accordance to a set of pre-determined rules.
There is a need and importance of discipline in our society and in our life. In our home, in schools in the playground and everywhere in this world discipline brings order.
The absence of discipline brings disorder and chaos. There are some rules that control our activities. If we do not respect these rules, our life will be like a boat without the boatman. If we do not obey our parents at home, our teachers at school and the referee or the umpire in the playground, we can imagine what will happen. . In the armed forces discipline is everything. Without discipline the army is a rabble. Like them we all must be disciplined, so that everybody can be proud of us.
Discipline is a way of life. It is vital in happing one’s personality. According to one school of thought, there are here forms of discipline i.e. expressionistic, impressionistic and self- discipline.
Discipline is of great importance in every walks of our life. Without it, we cannot prosper in this world. There cannot be any peace or happiness in the family, if there is no discipline. All the members must obey the head of the family. So we must first learn the lesson of discipline at home.
We must obey the orders of our superiors. In our childhood, we do not know what is good for us. If we do as we like, then we shall be ruined. An army cannot win a battle if the soldiers do not obey the orders of the commander.
