Manipal, April 24: Based on a specific information received about the possession of syringes used to take drugs in the lodge, the Manipal police station has raided and arrested three accused. The incident took place at the Downtown Lodge in Dasharatha Nagar, Badagabettu village, Udupi taluk 80.
The arrested have been identified as Mohammed Azharuddin, Rajesh Prakash Jadhav, and Nazil Malpe.
On April 22, Mahesh Prasad, a police inspector at Manipal Police Station, while at the station, received information that some individuals had syringes used to take drugs in room no. 106 of the Downtown Lodge in Dasharatha Nagar, Badagabettu village, Udupi taluk 80.
Accordingly, the police raided Room No. 106 of the Downtown Lodge in the presence of the staff and the five accused and arrested them. They seized 13.70 grams of MDMA worth Rs. 40,000/- and 225 grams of ganja worth Rs. 10,500/- from their possession, 15 small plastic covers, 5 syringes, 3 plastic bottles of sterile water 5 ml and an ACE company keypad mobile worth Rs. 500 and a REDMI company touch screen mobile worth Rs. 5000.
A case has been registered under Section 8(c), 20(b), 22(b) of the NDPS Act at Manipal Police Station and is under investigation.
