Puttur: On the occasion of ‘National Education Day’ PG Library of St Philomena College Puttur in association with IQAC and Jnanaganga Book House Puttur organized ‘Book Exhibtion and Sale’ at Library hall.
The Chairman of PG Centre Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro inaugurated the programme and delivered the inaugural address. He said, ‘Library is the most important thing in our life. Today, we have plenty of e-books. These e-books contain lot of advertisements. However, books never tempt the readers to have anything else. They concentrate in reading.’
The Coordinator of Internal Quality Assurance Cell Dr A P Radhakrishna spoke on this occasion. He said, ‘Library is a sacred place which help us to acquire knowledge and information. Book exhibition is an activity which can promote the habit of reading.’
The Principal Prof. Leo Noronha delivered presidential address. He said, ‘Book is the best companion of the readers. Books can help the people to acquire knowledge. They also make the people happy. A good book in the hands of a teacher can make transformational change in the society.’
The librarian Noothana Kumari M, member of Library advisory committee Praveen Prakash D’Souza, Proprietor of Jnanaganga Book House Shyam Bhat coordinated the programme.
Likhitha and team presented the prayer song. The Convener of Library advisory committee Rev. Fr Rithesh Rodrigues welcomed the gathering. The Librarian Manohar S G proposed the vote of thanks. Deeksha M B compered the programme.
