Mangalore, June 15: Maravoor bridge which is connecting bridge from Mangalore city to Mangalore International Airport has collapsed from one side yesterday night on June 14.

Maravoor bridge which is across Falguni river in Maravoor and its also a main connecting route from Mangalore city to Mangalore Airport and Bajpe.

The bridge has collapsed at one side as two pillars have been shrunk by 3 to 4 feet. As per the Decision by Commissioner of Police the traffic on this route will suspended till further decisions.

Commissioner of Police N. Shashi Kumar after visiting the spot, speaking to media he said "As the bridge is non motorable, whoever wants to travel from Mangaluru city to Mangalore Airpot have to take an alternative route that is from Nanthoor-Kulshekar-Vamanjoor-Gurupura-Bajpe. This is route is applicable to only those who come from Mangaluru City, Kasargod and Kerala."

"Travelers who come from Udupi District the route will be Mulky-Kinnigoli-Kateel-Bajpe. The bridge road will be open for only motor vehicles to pass and all the other vehicles are requested to take the alternative routes to reach Mangalore International Airport".
