High blood pressure is a disorder characterized by more than normal pressure is being pumped by the heart. The main function of the heart is to pump blood into the arteries and to receive the blood that comes back to it.

With each beat of the heart, the blood is pumped out to the various organs through the arteries. In that process ,it pumps with greater vigour and wat is known as high pressure of the blood is caused.

When there is a disorders in the arteries, such as arteriosclerosis (hardening of the arteries or deposition of fat inside the arteries), they are unable to contain the blood, that is necessary for a normal functioning of its circulation, throughout the body, with the result that, the heart is strained and works overtime to maintain the required amount of blood.

CAUSES:

Normal range: 140 mm to 150 mm of mercury (systolic) and 80mm of mercury (diastolic).

1. A diet high in salt and fat.

2. Chronic conditions such as kidney disease and high cholesterol.

3. Stress/Anger.

5. Smoking.

4. Lack of exercise.

6. Overweight.

7. Adrenal and thyroid disorders.

8. Sleep apnea
