Udupi: POWER– Platform of Women Entrepreneurs, was formed in 2009 on the International Women’s Day. Thus, every year on this day we celebrate our “Charter Day’ along with International Women’s Day. This year Charter Day is a joint programme with UBUNTU Consortium of Women Entrepreneurs’ Association, Bangalore which is being organized on 6th March, 2021 at the Hotel Central Park Auditorium, Manipal at 4 pm.
Addressing a press meet at Udupi Press Club here on Thursday, March 4, Thara Thimmaiah said that Veena Vivekanand, CDPO, Women and Child Department, Udupi and Devaki Yoganand, Founder and Joint Secretary of UBUNTU Consortium have confirmed their gracious presence as Chief Guest and Guest of Honor.
She said that on this occasion, Pramila Rao, Founder of Kalpa Trust and Suma Nayak, Honorary Trustee of Animal Care Trust, Mangalore will be honoured as Women Achievers in recognition of their services.
She also said that the program will include installation of POWER team for the year 2021-22. President Thara Thimmaiah, Vice Presidents Suguna Suvarna and Suvarsha Minj, Secretary Priya Kamath, Treasurer Shalini D Bangera and Joint Secretary Pallavi Behera.
She said that POWER is a NGO established on 8th March, 2009 with 11 founder members. Today it has more than 90 members from Udupi district. The vision of POWER is to unite women entrepreneurs, women in family business and women aspiring to become entrepreneurs; to inspire them and help them realize their dreams and to transform the role of women in business into a dynamic force.
