Today's WORD of GOD 

Matthew 10: 34 -11:1 

It is not peace I have come to bring, but a sword

Jesus instructed the Twelve as follows: ‘Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth: it is not peace I have come to bring, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. A man’s enemies will be those of his own household. 

‘Anyone who prefers father or mother to me is not worthy of me. Anyone who prefers son or daughter to me is not worthy of me. Anyone who does not take his cross and follow in my footsteps is not worthy of me. Anyone who finds his life will lose it; anyone who loses his life for my sake will find it. 

‘Anyone who welcomes you welcomes me; and those who welcome me welcome the one who sent me.

‘Anyone who welcomes a prophet will have a prophet’s reward; and anyone who welcomes a holy man will have a holy man’s reward. 

‘If anyone gives so much as a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is a disciple, then I tell you solemnly, he will most certainly not lose his reward.’ 

When Jesus had finished instructing his twelve disciples he moved on from there to teach and preach in their towns. 

 

Today's Reflection 

In Today's Gospel, JESUS Speaks about the Sword. HE Says that I Have Come to Bring the Sword.

If so what is the Need of the Sword? Why This Sword is Needed? 

What can One Do with the Sword? 

If We are Able to Answer This Questions then We Understand Why JESUS is Speaking About the Sword 

The Function of the Sword

The Main Function of the Sword is to Cut & Separate 

Something which We Don't Want, We Cut & Separate It & then We Throw It Away 

 Sword is also Used to Divide Something 

At Times Sword can also be an Instrument of Power & Authority. 

JESUS is Not Speaking about the Metal Sword

JESUS is Not Referring to the Metal Sword, but a More Powerful Sword than Metal Sword which can Cut Many Things, which are Unwanted in Life. 

So JESUS' Sword is More Powerful than Any Other Metal Sword in This World 

The Sword of Jesus

 The Sword of Forgiveness, which can Cut any Amount of Enmity.

 The Sword of Love which can Cut Hatred.

 Sword of Generosity which can Cut the Leprosy of Greed.

 Sword of Humility which can Cut the Height of Pride.

 Sword of Sacrifice which can Cut the Umbrella of Selfishness.

 Sword of Hardwork which can Cut the Pull of Laziness.

 Sword of WORD of GOD which can Cut the Desire for Gossip.

Sword & My Life

The Sword of JESUS is Very Much Necessary to Live Our Life in a Authentic Way. 

If so what Type of Sword I Have in My Life? 

The Sword of Love, Forgiveness, Humility, Sincerity, Simplicity, Sacrifice, Service, WORD of GOD, etc

It's Better to Have These Swords in Our Life.
