Mangalore: Mangalore University Dr. P. Dayananda Pai and P. Sathish Pai Yakshagana Study Centre’s Tenth Anniversary Award and Yakshamangala Award presentation ceremony will be held on Saturday, March 18 at 10 am in Mangala Auditorium.
Dr. P. Dayananda Pai, sponsor of theYakshagana Kendra, will inaugurate the program in the presence of Sri Sachchidananda Bharathi Swamiji of Edneer Math. Alva’s Education Institution Chairman Dr. Mohan Alvawill be the chief guest. Yakshagana scholar Prof. M.L. Samaga, Prof. Padekallu Vishnubhat and Dr. Ganaraja Kumble will deliver felicitation speech. On the occasion, the foundation stone laying ceremony for Yakshagana Rangasthala, release of ‘Yakshahasya’ and ‘Lavanya Lakshmi Manthropakhyana’books will be held.

Yakshagana artists Puttige Raghurama Holla, Dinesh Ammannaya, Subrahmanya Dhareshwar, Kuriya Ganapathy Bhat, Padyana Shankaranarayan Bhat, Harinarayana Baipadithaya, Aruva Koragappa Shetty, Shivaram Jogi, Kumble Sridhara Rao, Argodu Mohan Das Shenoy, Petri Madhava Naika, Balkooru Krishna Yaji, Mukhyaprana Kinnigoli, Ubaradka Umesh Shetty, Pookala Laxminarayan Bhat, Dr. Uppangala Shankaranarayan Bhat, Dr. Chandrashekhara Damle will be felicitated with Dashamanothsava award.
Yakshamangala Award
Senior artists Pundarikaksha Upadhyaya and Dayananda Nagooru have been selected for the Yakshamangala Award2021-22 ofDr. P. Dayananda Pai and P. SathishPai Yakshagana Study Centre. Dr. D. Sadashiva Bhatta's 'Shrikrishna Charita' Yakshagana epic poem has been selected for the Yakshamangala Kriti Award.
Yakshagana Study Centre Director Prof. Shripathi Kalluraya said in a release that after the award ceremony, the senior artists of Yakshamangala team will perform ‘Mahisha Vadhe’ Yashagana Prasanga.
