Udupi Shankarpura, Apr 07: The faithful in Shankarpura celebrated Good Friday with much devotion. The Good Friday service began in the evening at 5.30 pm. Asst. Parish priest Rev Fr Anil Francis Pinto was the main celebrant, he preached the word of God focusing on the final seven words of Jesus on the cross which composition of Jesus’ three years ministry.
The seven words of Jesus on the cross call us to forgive each other, to surrender ourselves into the hands of God, and to accept our salvation and to continue his mission faithfully which is entrusted to us. Parish priest Rev. Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves did the unveiling and veneration of the Holy Cross. Rev Fr Vijay DSouza, Asst Parish priest and school coordinator concelebrated the ceremony.
