Saya: CODP in collaboration with CEI Italy, organized an orientation on Natural Resource Management for the people of Saya.
Resource person from Caritas India Dr Haridas, CODP Director Fr Oswald Monteiro, Designate Director of CODP Fr Vincent Dsouza, Panchayat members Jayashree Kulal and Ayisha AA, and MGNREGA officer Nawaz were present on the dais.
Peter Paul D Souza, Coordinator from CODP welcomed the gathering. Fr Oswald Monteiro, Director of CODP explained the purpose of organizing this program and why we need to protect our natural resources.
Dr. Haridas then spoke on Natural Resources Management and gave some tips for healthy living. He explained how natural resources like Air, Water, and Soil etc are wasted and polluted how modern food habits and lifestyle of people cause dangers to life. People consume vegetables, fruits and other products filled with pesticides and chemicals. As a result, hospitals are mushrooming, the life span has reduced and sicknesses are increasing day by day.
After the input sessions, an action plan was drafted to manage natural resources in Saya area. The Director of CODP, Resource Person and office team went around the village area and discussed a few points about project implementation.
