Mudipu: “NAMAN” the first Konkani rosary and daily prayer app was launched by Emeritus Bishop of Mangalore Rev Fr Aloysius Paul D’Souza.The mobile app was launched during the solemn annual feast of St Joseph Vaz Shrine Mudipu.
The brain child of this mobile application is Fr Joswin Dsouza Asst PP of Valencia and Fr Rohan Lobo,Bishop’s Secretary. The app was developed by the students of NMAMIT college Nitte, Rahul D Shetty, Reevan Mario Miranda and Shushanth Kille under the guidance of Dr Roshan Fernandes, Professor of NMAMIT College, Nitte.This app contains Morning and Evening prayers, Daily rosary,Angelus,Litany, Divine Mercy chaplet in both Audio and Text format in Konkani. The text of the prayers is both found in Kannada and Roman script.
The special features of the NAMAN app:
1. Once you download the app, it works in offline mode.
2. It works in all kinds of android phones.
When can the application be used?
1. Travelling time.
2. When you are alone.
3. To teach prayers to little children.
4. People who are not familiar with Konkani language.
