Mangaluru, Sept 22: St. Aloysius College (Autonomous) Mangalore city inaugurated the 2-day inter-college mega talent competition “Aloysian Fest 2023'' on 22nd September 2023 at the college theatre.

Sushant Tharappan, an alumnus and head of HR at Infosys Limited, was the chief guest for the event. Addressing the gathering, Speaking on this occasion, he said that if life is to be carried smoothly, one has to constantly face difficulties. A number of impossible ways must be explored to solve them. Life is full of ups and downs. The fact that our lives are the same makes it clear that we are not living a sarian life. If life's highs teach momentum, lows teach tenacity. There are many lessons to be learned from life, he said.

Rev. Fr Melwin Joseph Pinto S.J. Rector of St. Aloysius Institutions, presiding over the programme said, All situations that occur in student life are an integral part of education. We should encourage extra-curricular activities along with the curriculum. Experiences learned from these teach us the true meaning of life. He said that we have to make an effort to know many things between victory and defeat.

Rev. Fr Dr. Praveen Martis S.J., Principal of the College said, Students should strive to achieve their goals and demonstrate them, not just limited to one subject.

Meanwhile, the trophies of Art Beat (BA & BSW fest), Composite (BCA fest), Imprints (B.Sc. fest), Acme (B. Com fest), Spinout (BBA fest), Initia (B Voc fest), Asthitva (Cultural fest) and Aloysiad (Sports fest) were unveiled by the dignitaries which were presented by the student coordinators of the respective departments.

Dr. AlwynD’Sa, Registrar & Controller of Examinations, Dr. IshwaraBhat S, Dean, Students’ Welfare, Dr Anup Denzil Veigas, Director-Students’ Council, Dr Mahalinga Bhat, Fest Coordinator, Reji John, Assistant Coodinatorand other dignitaries were present on the dais. 

Dr Mahalinga Bhat welcomed the gathering and Christon Joshua Menezes, President, Students’ Council rendered the vote of thanks.
