Mangaluru: Team Siri and Matrix, students of Department of Journalism of St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), organized Swacch Sulthan Bathery, a cleaning drive on Friday, March 29.
Nagaraj Bajal, convenor of Hasiru Dala, was the chief guest. He said, We should inculcate cleanliness from our childhood. This can help in reducing dumped waste.
He explained the importance of keeping the water bodies clean. Bajal has played a important role in cleaning Nethravathi river.
Meanwhile, locals joined students in cleaning the surrounding. This program helped not only in cleaning the area, but created awareness about cleanliness and sanitation, said the organizers.
Team members of Siri (Anusha, Maithri, Kshithi, Vinya, Prajnya), Matrix (Sai Krithik, Radhakrishna, Salman, Arun), students and locals were present.
