Magaluru: In the age of modern technology, it is not enough for students to be educated, they must also be smart. Our negligence towards technology can cost us dearly, said Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management Computer Engineering Professor Dr. Ananth Prabhu Gwarned. 

Addressing the gathering after inaugurating “PG Day-2022” organized by the Postgraduate departments of University College Mangaluru here at Ravindra Kala bhavana on Thursday,  he said that we should be well aware of the Information Technology Act-2000 while using the internet just like observing road signs, he said. He informed about some websites which can help in cyber-crime prevention and to know cyber laws.

Presiding over the function, Principal Dr. Anasuya Rai expressed her happiness that the postgraduate students have also proved their talent in extra curricular activities as well. Meanwhile, the rank winning students- Roshan D'Souza, Ashika, Shravya N,  Bhavana Dinesh, Dr. Usha M, Shwetha J Pujari, Pavithra Shennoy P and the students who cleared NET/KSET were felicitated. Prizes were distributed to the achievers in sports and winners of cultural competitions.

PG Studies in Economics Department Coordinator Dr. Ramakrishna BM welcomed the guests, while Dr. Yathish Kumar of Department of Commerce read the annual report. PG Studies in Chemistry Coordinator Dr. Lakshman K, Hindi Department Coordinator Dr. Nagarathna N Rao, Physical Director Dr. Keshava murthy and others were present. PG Studies in History and Archaeology Department Coordinator Dr. Kumara swamy M extended vote of thanks. PG Economics Lecturer Shama mastered the ceremony. The cultural variety performed by the students attracted the attention of the crowd.
