Mangalore: The District Small Industries Association, Mangalore commemorated International Women's Day with great enthusiasm and reverence on 9th March 2024. The event, held at the association's premises, served as a platform to honor and celebrate the extraordinary achievements of women in various fields.

Shilpa Prashanth, the esteemed Founder of Manikya Silks and Suits, graced the occasion as the chief guest, bringing with her a wealth of experience and inspiration. In her address,  Shilpa Prashanth shared insights into her journey as a first-generation entrepreneur, highlighting the challenges she overcame in pursuit of her passion. Her words resonated deeply with the audience, inspiring all present to strive for excellence despite obstacles.

The highlight of the celebration was the felicitation of distinguished women entrepreneurs who have made significant strides in their respective domains. Harina J Rao, Rose Clara, . Kalavathi,  I Jaya Shenoy and P Geetha Shenoy were lauded for their outstanding contributions and exemplary achievements, serving as beacons of inspiration for aspiring entrepreneurs across the district.

Furthermore, the event also paid homage to the invaluable service rendered by retired women officials from the District Industries Centre.  Jahnavi,  Latha,  Renuka,  Malathi and  Rathnamma were recognized for their dedicated and commendable contributions towards the growth and development of the industrial sector in the region.

Vishal L Salian, in his presidential address, emphasized the District Small Industries Association, Mangalore's proactive endeavors in promoting the financial empowerment of women across the district.
