Madanthyar: In the leadership of Catholic sabha mangaluru pradhesh (R.) Indian Catholic youth movement and Catholic women Board in associated with Mangalore Belthangady and Puttur Dioceses organises samudayotsava 2020 on 2nd of February 2020 on Sunday at Madanthyar church Ground where around 30000 people witnessed this programme.
This milestone was created by procession including Mangalore Bishop Rev. Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha this follwed the flag hoisting by Ronald Kulaso Catholic Leader and NRI Businessman and all the guest were welcomed by a welcome dance from the students of Sacred heart English Medium School Madanthyar. Prayer song sung by Madanthyar Church choir In guiedence of Prof. Leo Noronha.
Joyal Mendosa the convenor of the program welcomed all guest off the dias and on the dias and he stressed on the motives of this program that is to unite the community, to discuss on youths facing problem like depression and our stand in politics and government jobs.
The program was inaugrated by lightning the lamp and planting saplings by bishop of Mangalore Rev. Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Puttur Rev. Dr. Givargis Maar Makariyos, Bishop of Belthangady Rev. Dr. Lawrence Mukkuyi and by other dignitaries on the dais. Rev. Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha on his inaugral speach he said " we are one family where there is no place for any discrimination and our people have served many whether they are poor or rich so today we have come here as one family " and further he added that "its very easy to do the non difficult work but it takes a lot work and hardship to do a difficult works and who does this are the successful one's" and he said " Uniting is God's work where as dividing is Devil's work" then at last he remembered all Catholics who have surrendered their life in serving the society.
Rev. Dr. Givargis Maar Makariyos Bishop of Puttur spoke on this occasion.
In his keynote address Rev. Dr. Lawrence Mukkui Bishop of Beltha gady said we are love and respect all the community and we never tried to convert any people and today all religion people are coming to our schools and colleges and being educated and we are proud of it and Christian community has been there in every field of the society whether it is education, health or social service our main objective is to serve the society.
Later Ronald Kulaso NRI entrepreneur and philanthropist was honored as ' Vishwa Bhushan' by all three diocese for his contribution to the society through social, charitable and philanthropic activities.
In response to this honor he said " I thank all the three diocese and Catholic Sabha for this honor and for recognizing and for the felicitation given. I never expected any awards for the social benefits that i have done. My aim was to do something good for the society as a human and i think its my duty to do that, I share what i have received from God the Almighty. I salute all the Catholic Sabha members for organizing this Samavesh where its happy to see such a huge crowd that participating in this."
He further added that " In India 80 percentage of population constitue Hindus, Muslims 14 percent and Christian only 2.5 percentage and we are minorities but when compared to other communities we have given a lot more contribution to social, education, and healthcare. In ancient times when all the other communities were deprived of learning other than Brahmans, Rajputs, and Kshathriyas we who opened schools and colleges in big or small towns and in city or villages and we accommodate all the communities who were deprived of education. When it is alleged that we convert other religion people if at least one percent was converted to Christianity ever year then our population would have been raised to 70%, but we are still 2.5% then where did all convert and go?". And he said " Please do not break the hearts of people by saying that you convert other community people and we do not have any place for discrimination in our christian community. We are one family."
" Why we are struggling because we do not involve ourselves in social things we don't make us recognize ourselves in the society and youngsters of today please do not indulge yourself in mobile phones which just kills your time please utilize your time in finding something which will make your future a better one" he added.
President of Mangalore Catholic Sabha Pradesh (R.) Paul Rolphy D'costa in his presidential address said "thank you to all who had come to witness this Samavesh in large numbers. and added that we are Catholics, without considering any caste creed we work together for the welfare of the nation and the society but if, any party come and try to break our unity we wont tolerate it and we will take the actions which will be suitable". He remembered all the personalities who have given their selfess service for the benifits of the society, he spoke on the success of the Laudatosi programme take up and thanked everyone for their support and he adviced all the youth to bring out their talents and their dreams and try to fulfill them. furthur he said " as Christians we have taken stand in social welfare being a part of our state we demand ' Samudhay Bavan and Apta Salaha Kendra' for drug addicts and bring awarness among youth on use of drugs and secondly we demand Christian Development Board and sanction of 50 Crore with a government land for this. Thirdly as September 8 is celebrated as Birthday of oour Mother Mary we demand a govement holiday for all school and colleges, fourth one is in consideration of youth demand to ban PUBG game in Karnataka where youth are being addicted to phones, fifth one in every Political party one Christian candidate should be given tickets one chance to compete in election". and these resolutions were handed over to Ronald Colaco for submission to the authorities concerned.
Harish Poonja MLA of Belthangady and the major donor of Samavesh was felicitated by the dignitories. and Icym President Leon Saldanha read the oath oath for 'youth against drug and alcohol consumption'.
