Bantwal, Nov13: "I have seen this in my childhood, this has brought back my childhood memories", said Rajendra K.V. Deputy Commissioner of DK. He was speaking at Vitla on the occasion of paddy harvesting awareness programme.
The programme was organised by in collaboration with Dakshina Kannada Working Journalist Association, Department of Information and Public Relations, Bantwal Taluk Journalists' Association, Alekhi Gram Panchayat and Mittalike Family.
The programme was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner of DK Dr. Rajendra Kumar KV by harvesting the Paddy.
The programme was held at Mittalike family house.
Welcoming everyone, Srinivas Nayak Indaje President of Dakshina Kannada Working Journalist said, "On July 29th in the same place we had organized paddy plantation programme and today the same crop we are harvesting" . He thanked DC Rajendra KV for his presence on the occasion and taking part in the programme."
Deputy Commissioner while speaking said, that such activities are deteriorating due to Covid, work from home scenario. He also said that the development of IT companies, land purchasing has increased and crop cultivation lands are vanishing. These activities are an exposure to the city population"
Eldest of Mittalike family Sankarappa Shekha, Mittalike family members Sarasvathi Alva, Dayananda Alva, Surya Natha Alva, Vijaya Shankara Alva, Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists Association Secretary Ibrahim Adkasthila, Bantwal Taluk Journalists Association President Prashant Punjalakatte, Sooryavamsha Foundation President were present on this occasion.
