Former Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh passed away on 26 December 2024 as he was admitted to AIIMS in Delhi on Thursday. He was 92 years-old.

In the statement released by AIIM's said "With the profound grief we inform the demise of the former Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh, aged 92. He was being treated for age-related medical conditions and had a sudden loss of consciousness at home on 26 December 2024. Resuscitative measures were started immediately at home. He was brought to the Medical emergency at AIIMS, New Delhi at 8.06PM. Despite all efforts, he could not be revived and was declared dead at 9.51PM. Kimalade: AIIMS, New Delhi"


He served as India's Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014. His political career ended earlier this year in April when he retired from Rajya Sabha. Served as Finance Minister in 1991-1996 said as a key architect of the economic reforms affected by the government that broke the stronghold of socialist-era policies.
