Mysuru: Two decades after the death of  South India’s Notorious forest Poacher , Smuggler, Domestic Terrorist  Veerappan, the forest department is keen to take advantage of the beauty of the forest and will soon launch a safari from Hogenekal Falls on the Tamil Nadu-Karnataka border.

The safari starts from Gopinathan, Veerappan's native village. The demand for 'Brigand Tourism' from tourists has increased. The safari covers 22 kilometers of forest, especially the Veerappan hides in the Kaveri Wildlife Sanctuary. Here there are elephants, sambar, deer, bears and other wildlife.

The Kaveri Wildlife Sanctuary authorities wanted to start the safari from Hogenekal, especially for boating on the Kaveri River and traditional fish dishes on both sides of the border which are a favorite among tourists.

The department has planned four trips - two in the morning and two in the evening. Two vehicles can carry 25 people.
