Mangalore, May 20 : A fight has been reported between undertrial prisoners in the city's Kodialbail District Jail on Monday.
A fight broke out between the accused in the Suhas Shetty murder case and another gang, and it has been reported that another group of prisoners attacked Naushad, the main accused in the Suhas Shetty murder case.
On Monday, the police custody of Naushad, the accused in the Suhas Shetty murder case, ended and the police produced Chotte Naushad in court. Later, the police decided to shift him to Mysore Jail, but in the meantime, Naushad said that he needed to see someone in the Mangalore Jail. While the police were taking Naushad to visit another prisoner in the jail, an attempt was made to attack him by throwing stones and other objects at him.
The jail staff immediately averted the attack and fortunately, it is learnt that Naushad escaped without any harm.
