Mangaluru: University Evening College, Mangaluru, celebrated Kannada Press day at Shivarama Karantha Hall on Monday 4th July 2022.
Special lecture was given by Jeethendra Kundeshwar, Special Reporter and Chief Bureau of “Vishwavani” Newspaper Mangaluru. In his talk he expressed that good talk, food and water are the three things that are precious in life. Journalism is to know about the world which improves the common sense of an individual. True journalism is a social service, working for a social cause like eradicating corruption and reaching to the people based on humanity giving joy to the society. One should be strong to report crime and spread love against hatred.
The programme was presided by Principal of the College Dr. Subhashini Srivatsa. Ganesh Acharya of II BA composed the programme. Sachendra, Lecturer of Journalism introduced the guest and presented a prologue. The programmed was began with a Patriotic Song by Jeethesh and Yavez of I BA. Vote of Thanks was rendered by Ms. Kavya. Teaching and Non teaching staff, Students of Journalism and Open Elective Journalism students were present in the programme.
