Bantwal, May 27: A horrifying incident took place in Bantwal, where a pickup truck driver was hacked to death with a sword while unloading sand.
The victim, identified as Raheem, a resident of Kolattamajalu, was attacked near Irakodi, close to Kuryal in Bantwal taluk. He was unloading sand from his vehicle when two assailants on a bike approached and attacked him with a sword, leading to his death due to severe injuries.
Another person who was with him also sustained injuries but is reportedly recovering with medical treatment.
The attackers fled the scene after committing the crime. Police investigations are underway.
