Mangalore: Mangalore University Konkani Adhyayana Peeta in collaboration with School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya Mangaluru organized a special talk on 'Linguistic Harmony' and 'Effect of Social Media on Language Standards' at the Maria Paiva Hall, School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya, recently. 

St Antony College, Naravi Principal Fr. Alwyn Serrao inaugurated the program by performing Gumat instrument.  Speaking on 'Linguistic Harmony', he opined that acceptance of language plurality is the indication of linguistic harmony. He gave some insights on the surveys done on the number of languages spoken worldwide. Speaking on 'Effect of Social Media on Language Standards' Konkani litterateur H.M. Pernal highlighted the fact that there are very few people who create content in Konkani Language on Social media apps. 

Mangalore University Konkani Adhyayana Peeta Coordinator Dr. Jayavantha Nayak, in his introductory remarks presented details of various activities conducted by the chair for the promotion of Konkani language, culture and heritage. Secretary of School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya Evelyn Benis presided over the function. Assistant Professor Vandana Dsouza compered the program. Deepthi Moras welcomed the gathering and Vernon Chris Pinto rendered vote of thanks.
