Dakshina Kannada on Sunday August 9 recorded 132 new cases and six deaths, while Udupi witnessed another steep spike with 282 cases.
Mangalore:- As per the district health bulletin, a total of 7,207 positive cases have been reported till date, out of which 3,305 are currently active. As many as 3,682 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital, including 195 on Sunday. A total of 220 deaths have occurred so far, including six on Sunday.Among the 132 new cases, 68 have influenza-like illness (ILI), 11 have been diagnosed with severe acute respiratory illness (SARI), 21 are primary contacts, and 32 are under investigation.
Udupi:- As per the health bulletin released by the Udupi district administration,As many as 6,201 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district, including 282 on Sunday, and 2,697 cases are currently active. As per the district bulletin, 60 deaths have occurred so far. One positive case has been transferred to Dakshina Kannada.
Among the 282 new cases, 152 are in Udupi, 86 in Kundapur, 43 in Karkala, and one from outside the district.0 Among them, 132 acquired the virus through contacts, 69 have ILI, six have been diagnosed with SARI, and 66 are under investigation. Six of them have domestic travel history, while three have international travel history.
