Raichur Aug. 20: 1.30 lakh cusecs of water has been released from Tungabhadra reservoir into the river, resulting in the flooding of Guru Raghavendra Swami’s Ekashila Vrindavan in Elebichali village of Raichur.

Due to the Tungabhadra river flowing in its full force, water has entered Raya’s Vrindavan near Bichalamma Devi temple. Devotees are struggling to get a glimpse of the Ekashila Vrindavan, priests are performing puja and abhishekam in the water. In addition, the Japada Katta where Guru Raghavendra Swami performed penance has been completely submerged, and devotees who come to Mantralaya visit Elebichali without fail.

Vrindavan, built and worshipped by Appannachar, the great devotee of the king, is now flooded. The Bichalamma temple in Elebichchali is surrounded by water. The Ugra Narasimha temple, Nagadevate Katte, and Shivalinga here are flooded and are in danger of being submerged. There is a possibility of more water being released into the Tungabhadra river, and precautions have been taken to prevent devotees from entering the river. The network has been flooded for the second time in a month.
