Udupi: District police succeeded to arrest accused five persons in the day-light murder of rowdy Sheeter Kishan Hegde in Hiriyadka near here on Thursday, September 24 within 36 hours. Police arrested five persons near Mala of Karkala taluk, S.K. district border on early morning of 6 am on Saturday, September 26 who accused planning to abscond, said Udupi District Superintendent of Police(SP), Vishnuvardhan.

Addressing a press meet at Udupi District Police SP office here on Saturday, September 26, SP said that District Police formed five police teams to arrest the accused in rowdy sheeter Kishan Hegde murder case under the supervision of district SP, District Additional SP Kumarachandra and DySP Jaishankar. The special team led by Brahmavar Circle Inspector Ananthapadmanabha and Brahmavar PSI Raghavendra succeeded to arrest five accused in the case.

The accused arrested are Manoj Kulal(37),S/o Krishnappa Bangera, Thokoor, Shedigudde, Jokatte, Mangaluru, Chitharanjan Poojary(27), S/o Anand Amin, 5th Block, Krishnapura, Katipalla, Mangaluru, Chetan@Chetu Padil(32), S/o late Chandrashekar, Puda, Bantwal, Ramesh Poojary(38) S/o Puvayya Poojary, Sanghabettu, Bantwal and Deekshit Shetty@Devi Prasad(29), S/o Rathnakar Shetty, Katipalla, Surathkall, Mangaluru.

Against the all accused were accused in various cases in different police stations. Rowdy Sheeter Manoj Kulal accused in seven murder cases in various police stations and other four also are rowdy sheeters who indulged in various crimes including murder and attempted to murder cases, SP said.

Meanwhile police seized three cars from the accused during the arrest at border of DK. SP said deceased rowdy Sheeter Kishan Hegde also has been four murder cases registered in various police stations.

SP Vishuvardhan said under sec 143, 147, 148, 503, 302, 324, 421, 149 and other sections of Indian Penal code registered against the accused in murder case of Kishan Hegde.

To a query, SP Vishnuvardhan said that the cause of murder would be personal enmity and financial matters. On September 24, the accused followed Kishan Hegde from Mangaluru with two cars. After the murder, two cars left by accused at various places in Udupi district and three cars seized during the arrest.

Addl SP Kumarachandra, DySP Jaishankar, Udupi Circle Inspector Manjunath and other top police officials were present during the press meet.
