Udupi: District Collector G. Jagadish has instructed officials of the Department of Environment not to grant permission to start industrial pollution in various industrial areas in the district.He was speaking at the district office on Wednesday, chairing a meeting on industrial issues and the problems and changes that the district is facing.
The establishment of new industries that cause environmental pollution will interfere with the functioning of the already busy industries and the permanent closure of food processing, processing, packing and other food-related industries will also be difficult for the workers who trust these industries. District Collector G. Jagadeesh suggested that the Department of the Environment and the Industry should take more precautions when approving new industries.
At the meeting, there was extensive discussion on applications for establishment of enterprises in various industrial zones in the district. The Collector suggested that the use of the land acquired for industrial purposes be used for other purposes.
The District Collector advised Lead Bank Manager Rudresh to address the problems faced by the industry in the banking sector, inviting the representatives of the industry to the District Lead Bank Meeting, listening to their problems at the meeting and providing proper assistance.
The Deputy Chief Minister pointed out that the prime minister's job creation plan and the chief minister's job creation plan are achievable. The meeting was attended by Ramananda Nayak, Managing Director of Karnataka State Handicrafts Development Corporation, Gokul Das Nayak, Joint Director of District Industrial Center, IR Fernandes, Chairman of Industrial Association and various department officials and various industrialists.
