Mangaluru: Sudheer Kumar Reddy took charge as the deputy inspector general and the new commissioner of police for Mangaluru city on Friday May 30.
Anupam Agrawal, who had been the Commissioner of Police since September 2023, was transferred to the post of Deputy Inspector General of Police (Economic Offences), Criminal Investigation Department, on Thursday.
Reddy served as the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Dakshina Kannada district for a brief period, from June 2017 to January 2018. During the period, he had dealt with the illegal sand mafia with an iron hand.
In a significant reshuffle of IPS officers, the state government on Thursday announced major changes in the police leadership of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts.
