Mangaluru: NSS unit of St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru organised an enrichment Programme on Tulunadu culture 'Aati Dhonji Dhina' on 5 August 2023 to mark the monsoon month of Aati in Tulu Calendar.
Dr Asha Jyothi Rai Maladi, Ayurvedic Practitioner was the Resource Person. Speaking on the occasion Dr Rai opined that Tuluvas from times in memorial led a sustainable life in accordance to the forces of nature, observing rituals and practices associated with each season. She appraised the relevance of observances and its scientific efficacy during Aati season. Presiding the programme was the Principal of the College Sr Dr M.Venissa A.C. who acknowledged the initiative of NSS unit in organizing a programme emphasizing the regional culture. NSS Programme Officer Dr Meera delivered an introductory note and welcomed the gathering, Dr Udaya Kumar, NSS Programme Officer and Assistant officer Preetha were present on the occasion.
NSS volunteers presented a cultural programme exhibiting the Tuluva culture and served homemade delicacies of Aati season. Vashista Rai compered the programme and Chethana proposed the vote of thanks.
