Southern California: A 21-year-old illegal immigrant from India has been arrested after driving a truck while under the influence of drugs in Southern California, killing three people.

He has been identified as Jashanpreet Singh. He crashed into a car while the traffic was slow on a freeway in San Bernardino County. He then rammed into oncoming vehicles, including a truck.

The video went viral on social media and he was arrested in connection with a series of accidents, US News reports said.

Singh reportedly crossed the southern US border in 2022. He was caught by Border Patrol agents in the El Centro sector of California in March 2022. But he was released during the Biden administration. The crash was captured on a dashcam in Jashanpreet Singh's truck.

At least three people were killed and several others were injured when the truck initially hit a car. The three people who died in the crash have not yet been publicly identified. Singh and a mechanic who was helping change the vehicle's tire were among the injured.

Police said Singh failed to brake due to being under the influence of drugs. He was eventually taken to a hospital and examined by medical personnel. The officer said he was found to be driving under the influence of drugs. The US Department of Homeland Security has confirmed that Singh does not have legal immigration status in the United States.
