Mangalore (July 01): July 1st is celebrated as Press day. Today the first newspaper in Kannada Mangalore Samachar was published. In Karnataka, a press day celebration and commemoration of Hermann Muggling, publisher of the first newspaper, are held across the state.
On this occasion we Pingara Team celebrated this day by honoring Konkani writer Victor D'silva.
Dr. Suresh Negalaguli, poet ,writer and immediate past president of the Chuttu Sahitya Parishath, houred Victor D'silva on this press day. Raymond D'Cunha Editor of Pingara Newspaper handed over the momentum to the guest.
Speaking on this occasion, writer Victor D'Silva said, “It's been almost 10 years since I started writing books. But now stopped writing books because I was in the Arabic country. Likewise, they have to do something for the purpose of managing their lives.
Honouring Victor Dr. Suresh Ngalaguli said, "Today's doctors 'day, on this day, gave a doctor a chance to participate, so it is a pleasure to be honored. Honor is invisible". and, he encouraged Victor D'Silva to write books.
The program consisted of Riana D'Cunha, Manager, Sunil D'Cunha, Marketing head , Abhilash Banghera and student trainee Varsha Pai were peresnt.
