The Grand Finale of SIH (Smart Finale Hackathon) will be held on Tommorrow August 1st.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address SIH grand finale through a video conferencing and also interact with the students on the occasssion.

Smart India Hackathon is a nationwide initiative to provide students with a platform to solve some of the pressing problems we face in our daily lives, and thus inculcate a culture of product innovation and a mindset of problem-solving. The first three editions SIH2017, SIH2018 and SIH2019 proved to be extremely successful in promoting innovation out-of-the-box thinking in young minds, especially engineering students from across India.

The first Smart India Hackathon was held in 2017 in which totally 42,000 students took part. In 2018 WIth 1lkh students and in 2019 two lakh students participated. The first round of Smart India Hackathon 2020 saw the participation of more than 4.5 lakh students.

The grand finale of the software edition this year is being organized online by connecting all the participants throughout the nation over a specially-built advanced platform. More than 10,000 students will be competing to solve 243 problem statements from 37 central government departments, 17 state governments and 20 industries, the sources said.
