Mangaluru: Youth Red Cross Cell at University Evening College is inaugurated and an Orientation programme is organized on Saturday December 10th 2022 at Ravindra Kala Bhavana.
Yathish Baikampady, Management Committee Member, State Indian Red Cross Society has Inaugurated the YRC Unit through lightening the lamp. He gave examples of the members of YRC who had served society during the Covid pandemic. He stated that through YRC, the youth have everything to gain and nothing to lose. They have the courage to do anything and they need to try till they succeed.
President of the inaugural ceremony Prof. Kishore Kumar C K, Registrar, Mangalore University in his Presidential Remark conveyed that Mangalore University Youth Red Cross has secured the State award through its innovative and commendable activities. Continuing this legacy each student of YRC surely will evolve himself as a useful and good citizen in social service.
Dr. Ganapathy Gowda, Nodal Officer, Youth Red Cross, Mangalore University had addressed the youths about the importance of humanity and service. He has inspired and created awareness on YRC and motivated youths, revealing remarkable instances.
Resource person of an Orientation, acheth Suvarna, Director YRC, IRCS D.K. District, expressed YRC is a History to reality and Reality to history. He gave a call for service among youths briefing about Emergence of logo, benefits of Red Cross, the 7 Principles of Red Cross and tipped that understand oneself will lead to the wellness of society.
Dr. Subhashini Srivathsa, Principal of University Evening College, welcomed the gathering and gave a prologue, encouraging the students to nourish impartially independent in service.
The programme was organized by Officer of YRC Joyce Verendritha, Dept. of English. Ashalatha, Dept. of Kannada composed the programme. Mamatha B S, Dept. of Commerce proposed the vote of thanks. Lavanya and group-III BCom invoked Lords blessings. Introduction of the guests was done by Ricky- I BCom, Abhishek D-I BCom, Abhishek C S-I BCA and Soumya-I BA. The YRC theme song was sung by students. The teaching, non-teaching staff and students witnessed the programme.
