Mangalore: Pingara Kannada Newspaper  organized  The 15th Pingara Rajyotsava Prashasthi -2019 and it was awarded to MOZZIQUIT inventor Ignatius Orwin Noronha at Townhall Mangalore on Tuesday November 12.

Ignatius Orwin Noronha Limca book record holder who had invented eco-friendly, non-chemical Central; Government recognized mosquito killing machine named MOZZIQUIT for which he has been granted with 15 lakhs by Central Government for this achievement. This machine has been tested in Goshalas, Public places and houses of different sizes.

Ignatius Orwin Noronha in reply to award received he said. “This award is very important to me and I thank malaria research centre for suggesting my name and Pingara for this award. My mother is the inspiration for me to invent this MOZZIQUIT”.

Then Addressing the gathering the Bishop of Mangalore Rev. Dr. Peter Paul Saldana said “ It is very important to stop Dengue, malaria and other diseases and Mozziquit is the eco-friendly and a best solution to create our environment a healthy and eco-friendly one”.

During the programme a book on Joseph Crasta Trustee of Snehalaya was released by the  Bishop.

Selection committee comprised of members C G Pinto, Dr B G Suvarna and president of district working journalists’ union Srinivas Indaje, former president of Kannada Sahitya Parishad Harikrishna Punaroor, former President of Konkani Sahitya Academy Roy Castelino, and president Chutuku Sahitya Parishad Dr Suresh Negalguli. Coordination of the selection was done by Fr William Menezes and Elias Fernandes, director of Four Winds Advertising Agency.
