Mangalore: “Kar Natak” (act out) Konkani Drama competition in memory of Konkani, Tulu Actor Late Sunil Crasta

Mangalore: Having lost their beloved companion and friend  Sunil Crasta, the ‘Comedy Company Mangalore’ was in deep pain and sorrow. By his inspiration  the Comedy Company Mangalore has come forward to continue one of his dream projects ‘Kar Natak’.

had been always vocal about the lack of substantial and qualitative social dramas in Konkani. He had also planned out a very standard ‘Konkani Samajik Natkule Spordo’ (Konkani Social Drama Competition) with the help of his companions in Comedy Company Mangalore. Unfortunately, Sunil left us and his loved ones having finished his role on earth with his untimely demise.

We, the Comedy Company Mangalore are here to fulfil the dream and vison of our dear companion Sunil. We come to you with a brand-new Konkani Social drama competition ‘Kar Natak’. This good news was announced during the 250th Monthly Theatre at Kalangan, Mangalore on 2nd October 2022 in the presence of Erik Ozerio, the Gurkar of Mandd Sobhann, Luie Pinto, the president of Mandd Sobhann, Melwyn Peris the Yodling king of Konkani Music, Titus Noronha poet and Konkani writer, Denis Monteiro, the Konkani theatre artist and the members of Comedy Company Mangalore.

Loyd Rego, a popular Konkani poet welcomed the gathering and compered the stage program. To begin with, Denis Monteiro, one of the organizers of this competition introduced this idea of ‘Kar Natak’ with the backdrop of lack of qualitative social drama competition in Konkani.  Eric Ozario unveiled the competition booklet and assured his whole hearted support, blessings and wishes to the organizers and the participants.  The anchor of this competitions is Titus Noronha gave a detailed information on the speciality, depth and the responsibility of ‘Kar Natak’. He also informed gathering that this competition show will be guided and directed under the assistance of the organizers. Fr Francis Rodrigues, Walter Nandalike – MD of DaijiWorld and Sangeeth Guru Joel  Periera will the esteemed judges of ‘Kar Natak’. The popular MC Alwyn Danti will be compeering the show.

This competition will be held in the Don Bosco hall Mangalore on 11 and 12 of March 2023. It will also be telecasted on DaijiWord TV and ‘Comedy Company Mangalore’ YouTube channel.
