Mangalore: The state government, in its order issued on Monday August 24, clarified that passengers coming into Karnataka from other states need not undergo medical checks at the borders if they are COVID asymptomatic and that they need not be quarantined. On the basis of this order, Dakshina Kannada district administration has decided to open all its borders for passengers.
By way of clarification, Dakshina Kannada district Deputy commissioner (DC) Dr Rajendra K V, said that as per the revised rules, passengers entering Karnataka from other states need not undergo quarantine and there will not be checks at the borders. All the borders have been opened with effect from Monday evening, and there are no restrictions on people coming in from other states including Kerala and Maharashtra, he added.
But people from Karnataka visiting other states have to follow the rules prevailing in the respective states.
