Udupi: "No matter who writes, if there is some trace of experience in the work, it will be easily appreciated by the public," said Jnanadev Mallya, the editor of the Panwar Konkani monthly magazine from Manipal TMA Pai Foundation.
He was speaking as the president of the 24th Pingara Literary Festival and the Panchabhasha Kavi Gosthi, held at the residence of Antony Louis in Dasharathnagar, 3rd Cross Road, Manipal.
Speaking after reading a ghazal, former president of the Bantwal Kannada Sahitya Sammelana, poet and Dr. Suresh Negaluguli, said, "Literature in the home is something that stays in the heart. The functioning of a large literary conference inevitably gets tainted with commercialization."
At this event, the poets explained how tools like Google Blog, Google Type, and various mobile tools can be used to preserve literature, with English teacher Prema Shetty elaborating on the topic.
Senior journalist and writer Raymond D'Costa Taccode, who organized the event, read out some of his own short pieces written in English, Tulu, Konkani, and Kannada.
The poets who presented their work included Antony Louis, Diya Uday DU, Prema R Shetty, Malathi Ramesh Kemmannu, Avinash Aithal, Vanishree Tekatte, Suma Kiran Manipal, Vinod Prakash Padubidri, and Rekha Suresh Mangalore.
The event began with a welcome speech by Antony Louis, followed by the introduction by Raymond D'Costa Taccode. Jyothi Antony Louis offered the vote of thanks.
