Panaji, Goa, Jan 12: Gaurish Vernekar, a renowned Konkani writer, publisher, poet, painting artist, and lyricist, has been unanimously re-elected as the President of the Konkani Writers' Association for a second term.
The election was held during the General Body Meeting at Saraswati Mandir, Panaji, Goa. Vernekar will serve a three-year term from 2025-28.
The newly elected Executive Committee includes:
- President: Gaurish Vernekar
- Vice President: Vijaya Sheldekar
- Secretary: Prasad Pagi
- Joint Secretary: Aparna Garudi
- Treasurer: Milind Bharne
Advisers N Shivdas and Usha Rane, and Karnataka Representative Raymond D'Cunha were also elected. Sufala Gaitonde was unanimously elected as Permanent Salahadar.
General body meeting was held on 12th January 2025 at 4.30 pm at Panaji Fomento Hall of Saraswati Temple.
Secretary Anagha Kamat read the minutes of the last meeting. Treasurer Milind Bharne has read and shown the accumulated expenses of the last years. President Gaurish Vernekar gave vote of thanks.
