A new train service has started from Chikkamagaluru in the state for the darshan of Venkateswara, and a train will run from Chikkamagaluru to Tirupati once a week. Every Thursday, a train will run from Tirupati to Chikkamagaluru, and every Friday, a new train will leave from Chikkamagaluru to Tirupati.
This train has many stations including Chittoor, Katpadi, Kuppam, Bangarpet, Whitefield, KR Puram, Bangalore, Chikkabanavara, Tumkur, Tiptur, Birur, Kadur. Therefore, Union Railway Minister V. Somanna has informed that devotees from Malenadu, Tumkur, Bangalore and Kolar regions can use this facility.
