This giant spider looks like Hanuman. The trend of naming insects after famous people has started. Catacanthus incarnatus was named Hitler because it resembled the face of the German dictator. Similarly, the insect was named Mogambo because it resembled the character of Amrish Puri in the movie 'Mr. India', the researchers said.

The "Golden Orb Weaver Spider" is rarely found in areas like Gadag. This giant spider has some special features. Among giantwood spiders, females are stronger than males. Females are about three inches long. Males are smaller and live on the web woven by the female.

These spiders are not dangerous to humans. The researcher said that the venom in this spider is used to catch insects.
